Project Description
This is a cool project we just finished. This guitar started out as a basket case 1950 L7 I found in pieces at the Seattle guitar show. It caught my attention because it had an L5 fingerboard held on with elastics and original 50s L5 tuners,tailpiece and case. I decided to go whole hog and convert it to a period correct L5.This was a huge job that I’m not keen to repeat too soon! The guitar had been played for years without any finish so a see through finish wasn’t feasible. I remembered seeing a pic of a custom color black 50s L5 and decided to go that route. The DeArmond Rhythm Chief pickup sounds great and makes this one pimped out L7!
