1955 Les Paul Junior Project Guitar

About a year ago, I was poking around a local music store and found an early 50’s Gibson neck lying behind the counter. It had a huge rounded profile, Brazilian rosewood board with pearloid dots, and gold silkscreened logo. It was screaming to be made into a Junior. There was just one problem: a Junior […]

Brian Ray – Preview of ’63 SG Signature

Here’s a sneak preview of Brian Ray’s (Paul McCartney group) signature model ’63 SG, which will be available in 2014. Brian chose a rare 60s Epiphone finish called Silver Fox for his signature model…. we did this particular guitar in nitro lacquer and also converted it to a stop tail for Brian. It is quite […]

Ross Halfin’s SG Special

Here’s an SG special we did for UK rock photographer extraordinaire Ross Halfin. If you have ever looked at a coffee table book on rock, you’ve likely been looking at Ross’ work…..he has also been Led Zep’s official photographer since the 80s. Ross wanted an aged Pelham Blue special similar to the one Lenny Kravitz owns. […]

Custom Shop SG Standard – Refinish and New Braz Board

This is a new custom shop SG standard that we redid in aged Polaris White. It also has a new quartersawn Brazilian board with correct cellulose inlays and a combination of vintage 60s and Montreux parts. Love the 2 pickup SGs in polaris…

1961 SG/LP

Here is an early 1961 SG/LP Custom in aged Polaris white with moderate checking.

Restored Gibson SG/LP

Here is an SG/ LP that we restored for Helmuth Sultanow of Edmonton. Why didn’t I take before pictures ?!? …the whole body was dipped in a burgundy fibreglass resin (including part of the fingerboard) and every original part had been robbed off the guitar except for the pickguard. The fibreglass was removed over many […]

Custom Shop Flying V for Paul Stanley

This is a custom shop Flying Vee that we redid for Paul Stanley. It has a light amber finish that shows off the korina grain beautifully. It’s difficult to age gold hardware convincingly but I’m pretty happy with how this came out.

1964 Gibson Reverse Firebird V – Inverness Green!

Here is a 1964 reverse firebird V project guitar I got from my good friend Brian Fischer of Earcraft Music in New Hampshire. I decided to do this in Inverness Green…one of Gibson’s rarest and coolest custom colors. This is a hard color to photograph, the indoor shots are closest to how the guitar looks […]

Paul Stanley Firebird V

Here is one of two custom shop Firebird Vs we recently redid. This one belongs to Paul Stanley of Kiss. Paul wanted aged Golden Mist poly with a small amount of lacquer checking. We also replaced the board and inlays on this guitar. I love this color!

Kerry Green Firebird V

This is a new custom shop Firebird V that I recently acquired. I decided to make it as period correct as possible, so we replaced the board with an
old growth quartersawn Brazilian board with correct celluloid inlays and royalite binding. All the parts were hand aged and Monster Relic supplied
the beautiful worn guard. I […]
